MEMORIZE: Then shalt thou prosper; if thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: Be strong, and of a good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed (I Chronicles 22:13)

Introduction:

The youthful age is a delicate period of character formation, when a teenage one begins to make personal decisions on which way to follow and what to become in life. It is an early stage of accountability in which one though not much experienced as an adult, but is equally no more an ignorant child. Such has come of age to choose between evil and good and so becomes accountable to God for deliberate/voluntary offences he/she has committed.

The bible lays strong emphasis on the effect of one’s youthful life-style on his/her future welfare, either for good or for evil, for progress or retrogress, prosperity or poverty and frustration; according to whatever life-style one chooses to live. “For whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap” (Gal. 6:7-8)

CONSEQUENCES OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY

Those who spend their youthful days in sin and disobedience to God get entrapped in the bitter consequences thereof, with darkness and perversion of their destiny, from comedy to tragedy! Your sinful activities as a youth throw back clouds and deadly shadows on your future tending towards bad-luck ill-favour and frustration; hindering God’s original plans for your life. This is why most people end up in agony and sorrow of unfulfilledness. Their reckless youthful involvements destroyed their future just as says the Bible in Job 13:26 for thou writtest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth”. And also from Job. 20:11 speaking of the recklessness sinner now in pain and agony, it says  His bones are full of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust. (Job 16:5-6; Pro, 4:18-19).

Most people today suffer untold bitter experience of hardship including infections, diseases spiritual oppressions, mysterious set-backs, illiteracy, biological disorder, occult bondage, mental and psychological dementia etc as a result of their unchecked consequential youthful activities in immorality, abortion, lies, deceit, theft, gangesterism, and cultism, hard drugs, mystiscms and demonic initiations, alcoholism, masquerading, robbery, rape, sodomy/lesbianism (homosexuality), masturbation, incest, truancy (away from school), parental insolence, unruliness and stubborn, plus pride, greed, high-mindedness crowed with laziness and incorrigibility (unchangeableness)

Any youth laden with such ungodly behavior is sure to hit the rock of crashing repercussions of sin if repentance and transformation keeps delaying. God’s judgment is reserved for every Godless youth who lives in recklessness and neglect of God! So the Bible in Eccl. 11:9-10. Rejoice O young man in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thy eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart and put away evil from thy flesh, for childhood and youth are vanity.

CAUTION: BE WISE NOW!

Don’t allow darkness to overtake your destiny with the ugly repercussions of sinful vanities! (See Isa. 59:7-10; 21:17-20)

Seize your early/youthful opportunity to enter/walk in the light of life with JESUS. And secure a bright and blessed future for soul and destiny; for time and eternity.”Seek the Lord while he may be found” (Isa 55:6). Remember now thy creator in the days of thy youth”. (Ecc. 12:1). Receive JESUS the light. Now at the early stage of your life and avoid the bitter regrets of deadly mistakes! (Jn 12:24; 12:35-36). If you obey and serve God early in life, your future is marked with success and prosperity! (Job. 36:11; Ps. 1:1-3).make God your guide – Ps 71:17; Jer. 3:4.

Purposefulness is taking strong, sound/godly decision towards your faith and commitment to God and standing to it without fear and compromise in the face of threatening challenges, like the Bible heroes of our text. Daniel, Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego.
